Race Rock Capital LLC provides capital introduction services to institutional asset managers across the alternative investments landscape; including Primary and Secondary Fund Introductions, Direct Investment and Co-Investment opportunities.
Race Rock was founded in 2010 as a Broker-Dealer to be a collegial environment among registered
representatives who work as a team with the goal of identifying unique managers and matching those strategies with institutional investors who would most benefit.
What We Do
Race Rock has successfully raised multi-billions of dollars for managers of Hedge Funds, both Quantitative and Fundamental, Private Equity, Early-Stage Venture, Private Credit and Real Estate. Direct deals have been raised in Tech, Biotech, Med Device, Logistics and Real Estate.

We are driven by our investors’ needs. Our primary intent is to expand the bandwidth of an institutional investor by filtering the broad universe of investment strategies to identify unique pedigreed managers with specialized talent. We attempt to work on a very targeted basis. We want to provide an introduction between investor and manager only if their mutual objectives are clearly aligned.
Our Team
Race Rock Capital currently has four registered reps, all of whom have held positions in money management, asset allocation, and trading. The team has an extensive network of investors including pension funds, endowments, multi-family and single- family offices. Geographic exposure is global with a focus on US, Canada, Europe, United Kingdom, South America, Japan and India. The team works collaboratively on behalf of each manager and direct deal.
Founder & CEO
Rich Bartels
Before dedicating his career to introductory services, Rich worked at both buy and sell side firms in various capacities as a quantitative research analyst and portfolio manager. He has held senior roles in marketing and sales. Rich has 40 plus years in finance and has raised billions of AUM for managers across asset classes. Rich received his MBA from Babson College and has earned CFA and CTA designations. He holds Series 3, 7, 24, 33 & 63 registrations.
Principal & CCO
Chad Bartels
Chad joined RRC in 2014 and serves as Chief Compliance Officer and Principal of the Broker-Dealer. Chad has over 20 years of industry experience, previously he held senior Equity and Equity Derivatives sales & trading positions at several sell side firms. Chad graduated from Babson College with a BS in Economics where he played Men's Varsity Lacrosse. He holds Series 3, 7, 14, 24, 28 & 63 registrations.

Catherine Sheridan
Catherine Sheridan has been in financial markets for over 30 years and joined Race Rock in 2015. She introduces products to institutions that include pensions, foundations, endowments and family offices throughout the United States and Canada. Prior to institutional sales, Catherine managed proprietary portfolios in convertible, merger and risk arbitrage. Catherine has a B.SC from Georgetown University, Masters from Northwestern University and a M.SC from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She holds Series 3, 7 & 63 registrations.
